how I will utilize my blog
During the past few weeks, I had the chance to learn, research, practice, and reflect on my learning and growth through use of this blog. Since creating this site, I have learned about the many benefits of maintaining an ePortfolio. My blog encourages ownership and engagement in the learning experience, while also allowing me a choice and voice. But it has also encouraged me to develop my digital skills, goal setting, and creating space to record my accomplishments, skills, and knowledge. The best part is that I own my domain and I can transfer my blog with me and can be used for future employment. So, going forward, I plan to utilize my blog in several ways:
To Share: While I am still in the process of developing my blog, I plan to share a link that includes my professional social media posts, contact information, and my completed works. In addition, it will include my experiences, skills, professional and personal goals, and my leadership philosophy. My main professional goal is to find an administrative job for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year and by allowing others to see my work and experience could provide a professional opportunity when I least expect it.
To Show: One of the benefits of having an ePortfolio is that I can highlight specific works that demonstrates my skills. That is why I plan on references in my blog when I update my cover letter. I also plan to discuss my works during future interviews and invite them to check out my ePortfolio for more information.
To Educate: As I expand my ePortfolio, I plan on going beyond just my academic or professional work. A goal of mine is to turn my blog into a full-fledged website that includes tips, tricks, and how to’s for teachers and parents looking for ways to integrate technology with education. Going forward, I will start including my favorite tools to use, tutorials on how to use these tools, and my opinions on the current state of education technology. Instead of referring my peers to Ditch That Textbook or the Cult of Pedagogy, they will be able to find what they need right here. Of course, this will take a lot of time and energy, but the payoff will be worth it.
